At Undercurrent Strategies I keep things simple. It is just me. A dedicated partner who brings more than 15 years of real municipal leadership experience to leaders who are stretched thin and ready for clarity. Municipal and nonprofit teams often face limited time and limited resources and the pressure to deliver for their communities never slows down. I have lived these challenges and I know how overwhelming they can feel. My work is about helping you navigate them with purpose and confidence.
My own story began in a park system that was trying to rise to high community expectations with very few resources. When I stepped into the Parks and Recreation Director role for the City of Sun Prairie the department was a team of three facing constant demands and a lack of resources. I knew we needed more than a plan. We needed alignment. We needed clarity. We needed a shared vision that would carry us forward.
Over time I built strategies that helped the department grow in healthy and sustainable ways. We reorganized. We built the right leadership team. We strengthened relationships with our community so we could understand what truly mattered. Our recreation division began generating new revenue that supported additional staff without adding to the tax levy. The department gained statewide recognition and became known as a model for excellence.
That experience fuels my work at Undercurrent Strategies. Today I support leaders to strengthen operations and build the clarity and capacity needed for their teams to function as high-performing organizations.
